Why does my BMW 3 Series have a rattling noise under acceleration?

I recently noticed a rattling noise coming from under the hood of my BMW 3 Series when I accelerate. It's especially noticeable during hard acceleration. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

This rattling noise could be caused by a loose heat shield under the car. Check for any loose or damaged heat shields and have them tightened or replaced if necessary.
