Why does my BMW 3 Series's engine make a clicking noise?

Recently, I noticed that my BMW 3 Series's engine has been making a clicking noise every time I start it up. It goes away after a few minutes but it's starting to concern me. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It's likely that the clicking noise is coming from a faulty valve lifter. This can be caused by lack of proper lubrication or buildup of debris. It's important to have this issue fixed as soon as possible to prevent further damage to your engine.
