Why does my BMW 4 Series make a rattling noise when I accelerate?

I recently noticed that my BMW 4 Series makes a strange rattling noise when I accelerate. It's most noticeable when I'm driving at higher speeds. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi Julia, the rattling noise could be coming from a loose heat shield or exhaust component. I recommend taking your car to a mechanic to get it checked out as soon as possible. Driving with a loose exhaust can cause further damage to your vehicle.
