Why does my BMW 5 Series make a strange noise when I accelerate?

I've noticed that my BMW 5 Series makes a strange noise whenever I accelerate on the highway. It almost sounds like a whirring or grinding noise. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?

Samantha, it's possible that this noise could be caused by a worn out drive belt or pulley in your BMW's engine. I recommend taking it to a trusted mechanic for a thorough inspection.

Hey Samantha, I had a similar issue with my own BMW 5 Series and it turned out to be a faulty exhaust manifold. Make sure to have this checked out as well.

Hi Samantha, the strange noise could also be caused by an issue with your transmission. It's always better to be safe than sorry, so I suggest taking it in for a diagnostic test at a BMW dealership.
