Why does my BMW M1 have a rough idle?

I recently purchased a BMW M1 and have noticed that it has a rough idle. The car shakes slightly and the revs seem to fluctuate. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

Your BMW M1 may have a rough idle due to a dirty air intake valve or a malfunctioning oxygen sensor. I would recommend taking it to a mechanic to have it checked and cleaned.

Another possible cause of a rough idle in a BMW M1 could be a faulty spark plug or ignition coil. Have these components checked and replaced if necessary.

It's also possible that your M1's fuel filter is clogged, causing the engine to run rough. Have it replaced to see if it improves the idle.
