Why does my BMW M7 engine make a ticking noise?

I've noticed a ticking noise coming from my BMW M7's engine. It seems to increase with the RPMs. What could be causing this and is it something I should be concerned about?

It's likely that there is an issue with the engine's valves. This can be caused by wear and tear or a lack of regular maintenance.

You may also want to check for any loose components in the engine bay, such as a loose heat shield or exhaust manifold. These can also cause ticking noises.

If the sound is more of a knocking noise, it could be a sign of low oil pressure. It's important to regularly check your oil levels and get them topped up if needed.
