Why does my BMW Z4's engine make a ticking sound?

I've noticed that my engine starts making a ticking sound after I've been driving for a while. Is this normal or should I be concerned? What could be causing this issue?

It's possible that your engine is low on oil, causing parts to rub against each other and create the ticking sound. I recommend checking your oil levels and topping up if necessary.

Another possibility is that your engine's valves may need adjusting. If they are too loose or too tight, it can cause ticking sounds. I suggest taking your car to a mechanic to have them checked and adjusted if needed.

Make sure to also check your spark plugs. If they are worn out or not installed properly, it could lead to ticking sounds from the engine. Replace any faulty spark plugs to see if that resolves the issue.
