I have recently purchased a BMW iX and I have noticed that it takes longer to charge compared to other EVs on the market. Is there a technical reason for this or is it just a design flaw?
ReplyHi Samantha, the reason for the longer charging time is due to the BMW iX's larger battery capacity. The iX has a 100 kWh battery, while most other EVs have a smaller battery size. This means that it will take longer to charge the iX to a full capacity. However, the range you get from a full charge will be significantly higher compared to other EVs.
Hi Samantha, another reason for the longer charging time could be the type of charging station you are using. The iX is capable of fast charging at up to 150 kW, but not all charging stations offer this high level of charging power. Make sure to use a DC fast charger to get the quickest charging time for your iX.
