Why does the BMW M1 struggle with overheating issues?

I recently purchased a BMW M1 and have been noticing some overheating issues. It seems to happen more frequently during long drives or when I am pushing the car to its limits. I want to know why this is happening and if there are any solutions.

Hi Max, thank you for reaching out. The BMW M1 has a custom-built engine which is prone to overheating due to its high-performance capabilities. This issue can be mitigated by ensuring proper maintenance and cooling, such as regularly changing the oil and using high-quality coolant. Additionally, it is important to avoid pushing the car to its limits for extended periods of time.

Hey Max, I have also experienced similar overheating issues with my BMW M1. One thing that I have found helpful is to install an aftermarket oil cooler. This can help regulate the engine temperature and prevent overheating. However, keep in mind that this may also affect the car's warranty.

Hi Max, I have owned a BMW M1 for several years and have not encountered any overheating problems. One thing that I have found helpful is to check and clean the radiator regularly. Also, be sure to keep the coolant levels at the recommended level to prevent any issues. Hope this helps.
