Why does the BMW M2 engine produce more horsepower than the previous model?

I noticed that the BMW M2 has a more powerful engine than its predecessor. Can you explain why that is?

The BMW M2 uses a turbocharged engine which allows for more air and fuel to be squeezed into each cylinder, resulting in more power. It also has a stronger and lighter engine block and other performance enhancements.

The BMW M2 has optimized its cooling system, allowing the engine to operate at a lower and more efficient temperature. This allows for more power to be generated without compromising the engine's durability.

E

The BMW M2 has a more efficient exhaust system, reducing back pressure and allowing the engine to breathe easier. This results in increased horsepower and torque.
