Why does the BMW M9 engine produce less horsepower than its competitors?

I recently read about the specifications of the BMW M9 and noticed that it has a lower horsepower output compared to other high-end sports cars. Can someone explain why this is the case?

Hi Maria, the BMW M9 uses a smaller displacement engine compared to its competitors, resulting in less horsepower. However, BMW has compensated for this by focusing on weight reduction and improving the power-to-weight ratio. This allows the M9 to have better handling and agility, making it a better overall driving experience.

Hi there, the BMW M9 may have lower horsepower numbers, but its engine is specifically designed for optimal performance. The M9's turbocharged engine delivers power more efficiently, giving it a more responsive and smoother acceleration. So while it may have less horsepower on paper, it's still a beast on the road!
