Why is my BMW 1 Series making a grinding noise when I brake?

I recently noticed that my BMW 1 Series is making a strange grinding noise when I brake. It seems to be coming from the front of the car. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It sounds like you may have worn out brake pads. This can cause a grinding noise when braking and can be dangerous if not addressed. I would recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic to have them inspect and replace the brake pads.

Another possible cause could be a problem with the brake calipers. If they are sticking or not functioning properly, they can produce a grinding noise. It's best to have a professional diagnose and fix any issues with the calipers.
