Why is my BMW 1 Series making a knocking noise?

I recently purchased a used BMW 1 Series and noticed that it makes a knocking noise when I start it up in the morning. It goes away after a few minutes of driving. Is this something I should be concerned about?

It is normal for BMWs to make a slight knocking noise when first starting up, especially in colder weather. However, if the noise persists or gets louder, it could be a sign of a deeper issue. I suggest having a mechanic take a look at your car to make sure everything is in working order.

I had the same issue with my BMW 1 Series. It turned out to be a loose belt that needed to be tightened. I recommend taking your car to a trusted mechanic to have it checked out.

I've been driving a BMW 1 Series for years and have never experienced any knocking noise. It could be due to a faulty component in your engine. I suggest taking it to a BMW dealership for a diagnostic to pinpoint the issue.
