Why is my BMW 1 Series making a loud grinding noise while turning?

I recently noticed that my BMW 1 Series is making a loud grinding noise while turning, especially at low speeds. It sounds like metal scraping against metal. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

This could be due to worn out brake pads or a damaged brake rotor. I suggest taking your car to a mechanic as soon as possible to get it checked out. Continuing to drive with this issue could worsen the problem and potentially be dangerous.

Another possible cause could be a faulty wheel bearing. In this case, you may also notice a vibration in your steering wheel or floorboards while driving. Again, I recommend taking it to a mechanic for a proper diagnosis and repair.
