I recently purchased a BMW 2 series and have noticed a clicking noise coming from the engine. It seems to happen intermittently and is especially noticeable at low speeds. I'm a bit concerned as this is my first BMW and I want to make sure everything is running smoothly. Any idea what might be causing this noise and if I should be worried?
ReplyThe clicking noise could be caused by a few different things, but it's always best to err on the side of caution and get it checked out by a mechanic.
It's possible that the noise is coming from a faulty valve or lifter. I would advise taking it to a BMW dealership or certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis.
Before getting too worried, I would suggest checking the oil level in your BMW 2 series. Low oil can sometimes cause strange engine noises. If it's low, top it off and see if the noise goes away.
