Why is my BMW 3 Series making a strange humming noise while driving?

I've noticed that my BMW 3 Series is making a strange humming noise while I'm driving. It seems to be coming from the front of the car, but I can't pinpoint the exact source. This noise started happening after I hit a pothole on the highway. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?
