Why is my BMW 4 Series engine knocking?

I recently purchased a used BMW 4 Series and noticed that the engine is making a knocking noise. I'm worried that this could be a serious issue. Can anyone offer advice on what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Hi Samantha, engine knocking can be caused by a few different factors. It could be due to low oil levels, worn out spark plugs, or even a faulty fuel injector. I recommend getting your car checked by a mechanic as soon as possible to avoid any further damage.

Hey Samantha, I had a similar issue with my BMW 4 Series and it turned out to be a problem with the timing belt. It's important to get this checked and replaced if needed, as a broken timing belt can cause serious engine damage.

Hi Samantha, have you tried using a higher grade gasoline in your BMW? Knocking can sometimes be caused by using low octane fuel. Switching to a higher grade may help resolve the issue.
