I have noticed that when I fill up my BMW 5 Series, the fuel tank does not appear to be completely full. It stops at about 3/4 full and then the nozzle clicks off. Is this normal or is there an issue with my fuel tank?
ReplyIt is not normal for your BMW 5 Series fuel tank to not fill up completely. This could be caused by a few different factors, such as a clogged fuel line or a malfunctioning fuel tank sensor. I recommend taking your car to a certified mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue.
This could also be caused by a faulty fuel tank vent valve, which can prevent air from escaping the tank and cause the nozzle to click off prematurely. I suggest having a mechanic check this component as well.
In some cases, there may be a simple fix such as a loose or damaged fuel cap. Check to make sure your fuel cap is securely tightened and in good condition.
