I recently noticed that my BMW 5 Series is making a strange whining noise whenever I accelerate. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It's possible that the whining noise is coming from the power steering pump. I recommend taking it to a mechanic to have it checked and possibly replaced.

Check your transmission fluid levels. Low fluid can cause a whining noise. If it's low, top it off and see if the noise goes away.
