Why is my BMW i3 not reaching full charging capacity?

I recently purchased a BMW i3 and have noticed that it is not reaching its full charging capacity. It seems to stop charging at around 80% and I am not sure why. Is there something wrong with my car or am I missing something?

It is normal for the BMW i3 to stop charging at 80% in order to prolong the lifespan of the battery. Charging to 100% can cause premature wear and reduce the overall lifespan of the battery. It is recommended to only charge to 100% when needed for longer trips.

Have you checked if your charging setting is set to 'adaptive mode'? This setting allows the car to adjust charging based on your driving habits and can help preserve battery life.
