Why is my BMW i3's battery not charging?

I recently purchased a used BMW i3 and I noticed that the battery is not charging properly. It only charges up to 70%, even after leaving it plugged in overnight. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

It is possible that the battery itself is faulty and needs to be replaced. I would suggest taking your car to a certified BMW dealership or mechanic to have it checked and potentially replaced.

Another potential issue could be with the charging cable or port. Check to see if there are any tears or damages to the cable, and make sure the connection to the charging port is secure. If there are any damages, it may be necessary to replace the cable.

Sometimes, issues with charging can be caused by a malfunction in the car's software. Try resetting the software by disconnecting the car's battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. If the issue persists, bring it to a professional for further diagnosis.
