Why is my BMW i8's engine making a ticking noise?

I recently bought a BMW i8 and noticed that the engine has started making a ticking noise. I'm worried that it might be a serious issue. What could be causing this noise and how can I fix it?

The ticking noise could be due to a number of reasons such as low oil levels, a problem with the valves or even a faulty fuel injector. I would recommend taking your car to a certified mechanic as soon as possible to diagnose and fix the issue.

It's common for BMW i8 engines to make a ticking noise, especially when the car is cold. This is usually due to the hydraulic valve lifters adjusting to the temperature. However, if the noise persists even when the engine is warm, it might be a sign of a bigger issue. It's best to have a professional take a look at it.
