Why is my BMW M3's engine making a ticking noise?

I recently noticed a ticking noise coming from the engine of my BMW M3. It seems to get louder when I accelerate. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

It's possible that this could be an issue with the valve train. I would recommend taking your car to a certified BMW mechanic to have it checked out.

Have you recently changed the type of oil you use in your car? It's possible that using the wrong type of oil or not changing it regularly could cause this ticking noise.
