Why is my BMW M6 engine making a knocking noise?

I recently noticed a knocking noise coming from my BMW M6's engine. It's not constant and seems to happen randomly. What could be causing this and what should I do about it?

Hi Michael, the knocking noise in your BMW M6's engine could be caused by a number of issues. It could be due to low oil pressure, a failing engine mount, or even a faulty crankshaft bearing. I suggest taking it to a certified mechanic for a thorough inspection and diagnosis.

Hey Michael, have you recently changed your oil or had any maintenance done on your BMW M6? It's possible that the knocking noise is due to incorrect oil viscosity or an improperly installed oil filter. I recommend double checking these things and taking it to a trusted mechanic if the noise persists.

Hi there Michael, I had a similar issue with my BMW M6 and it turned out to be a problem with the timing chain. You may want to have it checked out by a mechanic as a worn or stretched timing chain can cause knocking noises in the engine.
