Why is my BMW X1 engine making a clicking noise?

I recently started my BMW X1 and noticed an unusual clicking noise coming from the engine. What could be the cause of this and should I be concerned?

It is possible that the clicking noise is coming from a loose or worn out belt, which can be easily fixed by tightening or replacing it.

Another potential cause could be low oil levels or dirty oil, which can lead to engine noises. I recommend checking your oil levels and getting an oil change if needed.

If the clicking noise persists, it may be a sign of a more serious issue such as a faulty valve or engine component. I suggest taking your BMW X1 to a certified mechanic for a diagnostic check.
