Why is my BMW X3 making a rattling noise?

I just bought a BMW X3 and I noticed that it makes a rattling noise when I accelerate. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

A

The rattling noise could be caused by a loose heat shield or exhaust system. I would recommend bringing it to a mechanic to have it checked and tightened.

S

Another possible cause could be a problem with the engine mounts. This can be fixed by replacing the mounts or using a sound dampening product.

E

It could also be an issue with the spark plugs or ignition system. I suggest getting a tune-up to fix any potential issues.
