Why is my BMW X5 turning off unexpectedly?

I have a 2015 BMW X5 that has been running perfectly fine, but recently it has been turning off unexpectedly while driving. It has happened multiple times already and I'm worried it could cause an accident. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?
