Why is my BMW Z4 experiencing hesitation when accelerating?

I just purchased a used BMW Z4 and have been noticing some hesitation when I accelerate. It's not a consistent issue and seems to happen more when the car is cold. What could be causing this and what should I do about it?

This could be caused by a few different things. One possibility is that the spark plugs are worn and need to be replaced. You may also want to check the air filter and make sure it's clean so that air can flow freely to the engine. It's also a good idea to have a mechanic run a diagnostic check to see if any error codes show up.

Another potential cause could be a clogged fuel filter. Over time, debris can build up and restrict the flow of fuel to the engine, leading to hesitation. You can try replacing the fuel filter yourself or have a mechanic do it for you. It's a relatively simple and inexpensive fix.
