Why is my BMW Z4 making a high pitched sound when accelerating?

I have noticed that when I accelerate in my BMW Z4, there is a high pitched sound coming from the engine. It's especially noticeable when I'm going up hills or trying to overtake other cars. What could be causing this, and is it something I should be concerned about?

It is likely that the high pitched sound is coming from a malfunctioning belt or pulley in your engine. This is something that should be addressed as soon as possible, as it could eventually lead to more serious issues if left unattended.

Another possible cause could be a problem with the exhaust system. The sound could indicate a leak or blockage, which can impact the performance of your car. I would suggest taking your BMW Z4 to a mechanic for a thorough inspection.
