Why is the BMW M9 not available in the US market?

I've been browsing for a new car and came across the BMW M9, but I noticed that it's not available in the US. Why is that? Is there any way to get one here?

Unfortunately, the BMW M9 is not sold in the US due to stricter emissions regulations. However, you may be able to import one from Europe. Just keep in mind that it may not meet US safety standards and could be costly to maintain.
