Why is the BMW X2 engine making a ticking noise at idle?

I just noticed that my BMW X2 is making a ticking noise when it's idling. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be causing it and how can I fix it?

The ticking noise is most likely caused by a worn out hydraulic lifter in your engine. It could also be due to low oil pressure or a damaged engine component. It's important to get it checked by a mechanic to prevent any further damage.

Make sure to check your oil level and change it regularly. A lack of oil can cause the engine to make ticking noises. If that doesn't solve the issue, it's best to take it to a BMW dealership for a thorough diagnosis.

I had the same issue with my BMW X2 and it turned out to be a faulty camshaft position sensor. I suggest taking it to a reputable mechanic who specializes in BMWs to get it fixed.
