Why is the BMW X5's engine making a ticking noise?

I recently bought a BMW X5 and I've noticed that the engine makes a ticking noise when it's idling. It gets louder when I accelerate. Is this something I should be concerned about?

It's common for BMW engines to make ticking noises, especially when they're cold. However, if the noise persists even after the engine warms up, it could indicate a larger issue. I suggest taking your car to a certified BMW mechanic to get it checked out.

I had the same issue with my BMW X5. It turned out to be a faulty valve lifter. I recommend getting it fixed as soon as possible because it can lead to bigger problems down the road.
