Why is the engine in my BMW X8 making a ticking sound?

I've noticed that my BMW X8's engine has started making a ticking sound recently, especially when I start the car or accelerate. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

The ticking sound could be due to low oil levels. Check your oil level and top up if necessary. Also, make sure you are using the recommended oil type for your BMW X8.
