Why is the engine making a strange noise?

I recently noticed that my BMW 4 Series engine has been making a strange noise. It's a sort of rattling sound that occurs when the engine is running. What could be causing this and should I be worried?

Yes, you should definitely get this checked out by a mechanic. Odd noises coming from the engine can be a sign of a larger issue.
