Why is the engine of my BMW X4 overheating?

I've noticed that the engine temperature of my BMW X4 is constantly rising and I'm worried it might cause some serious damage. What could be causing this issue and how can I prevent it from happening?

It's important to keep an eye on the engine temperature and not ignore any sudden spikes or changes. The most common cause of an engine overheating is a low coolant level. Check the coolant levels and top up if needed.

Another possible cause could be a faulty thermostat. If the thermostat is not opening and closing properly, it can cause the engine to overheat. You may need to replace the thermostat.

If the coolant and thermostat are not the issue, it's possible that there is a leak in the cooling system. Have a mechanic check for any leaks and repair them before they cause more serious damage.
