First, locate the engine oil dipstick under the hood of your BMW X1. Pull it out and wipe it clean with a cloth. Then, reinsert it and pull it out again. The oil level should be between the minimum and maximum marks indicated on the dipstick. If it is below the minimum mark, you need to add more oil.
