How do I adjust the rearview mirror on my BMW 2 Series?

I recently purchased a BMW 2 Series and I'm having trouble adjusting the rearview mirror. I've tried adjusting the small lever on the bottom, but it doesn't seem to move. How can I properly adjust the rearview mirror?
