How do I enable the Lane Departure Warning in my BMW 5 Series?

I recently purchased a BMW 5 Series and I noticed that the Lane Departure Warning feature is not automatically enabled. How do I turn on this feature on my car?

The Lane Departure Warning feature may be turned off in your car's settings. Check your iDrive menu and go to the vehicle settings section to locate the Lane Departure Warning option. If it is turned off, simply switch it on to enable it.
