How do I override the automatic start/stop function in the BMW 8 Series?

I find the automatic start/stop function in the BMW 8 Series to be quite annoying. Is there a way to override it and permanently disable it while driving? I don't want the engine to shut off every time I come to a stop.

Yes, there is a way to disable the automatic start/stop function. In the iDrive menu, go to 'Vehicle Settings' and then 'Driving Mode'. From there, you can turn off the start/stop function permanently.
