I recently noticed that my BWM's engine is making a strange clicking sound. It only happens when the engine is running and seems to get louder when I accelerate. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?
ReplyIt sounds like you may have a problem with your valve lifters. These components can become worn or dirty over time and cause clicking noises. Have a mechanic take a look at them and replace them if necessary.
Another possibility is that your engine's oil level is low. Check your oil and replenish it if needed. Low oil can cause engine components to rub together and create a clicking sound.
If the clicking sound is only happening when you accelerate, it could be a sign of a worn out belt or pulley. Have your belts and pulleys inspected and replaced if necessary.
