How do I pair my phone with my BMW X1?

I just got a new BMW X1 and I'm trying to pair my phone, but I can't seem to figure it out. Can someone guide me through the steps?

The first step is to access the iDrive system in your BMW X1 and select the 'Settings' menu. From there, go to 'Bluetooth' and make sure the bluetooth function is turned on. Then, on your phone, go to your bluetooth settings and select 'BMW' from the list of available devices. Follow the prompts on both the car's iDrive system and your phone to complete the pairing process.
