How do I reset the iDrive system on my BMW XM?

I accidentally changed some settings in my iDrive system and now it's not functioning properly. How can I reset it to its default settings?

You can reset the iDrive system by pressing and holding the volume button and the power button at the same time for 10 seconds. This will reset the system to its factory settings.
