How do I reset the oil change indicator in my BMW X3?

I just had my oil changed in my BMW X3, but the oil change indicator is still on. How do I reset it so it shows the correct mileage for my next oil change?

To reset the oil change indicator, turn your ignition to the ON position without starting the engine. Press and hold the odometer reset button until the oil change indicator flashes. Release the button, then press and hold it again until the reset indicator appears. Release the button once the reset indicator flashes.

Another way to reset the oil change indicator is to use the iDrive menu. From the main screen, go to Vehicle Status and then scroll to Service Required. Select that option and then choose Reset Oil Service. Confirm the reset and the indicator should be reset for your next oil change.
