How to Extend the Range of BMW 7 Series Electric Mode?

I recently purchased a BMW 7 Series and I'm trying to maximize its electric mode range. I've noticed that even though the car is advertised to have a range of 28 miles, I'm only getting around 20 miles. Is there anything I can do to extend the range?
