How to reset the service light on a BMW 4 Series?

I recently bought a used BMW 4 Series and the service light keeps coming on. How can I reset it on my own without taking it to the dealership?

To reset the service light on your BMW 4 Series, first turn on the ignition without starting the engine. Then, press and hold the '0' button on the instrument cluster until the 'Reset?' message appears. Release the button and press it again to confirm. Your service light should now be reset. As for why it keeps coming on, it could be due to a number of factors such as an overdue oil change or other maintenance issues. It's always best to consult your owner's manual or take it to a trusted mechanic for a thorough inspection.

I had the same issue with my BMW 4 Series and I found that disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it helped to reset the service light. However, if it keeps coming on, there may be an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. Always make sure to keep up with the scheduled maintenance for your vehicle to prevent any potential problems.
