Is it necessary to warm up a BMW M5 before driving?

I'm considering purchasing a BMW M5, but I've heard conflicting opinions on whether it's necessary to warm up the engine before driving. Some say it's important for performance and longevity, while others say it's not necessary for modern cars like the M5. What do you recommend?

In my experience, warming up the engine is not necessary for a BMW M5. As long as the car has been properly maintained and is in good condition, there should be no issue with starting and driving right away. However, it's always a good idea to take it easy for the first few minutes of driving to allow the engine to reach its optimal operating temperature.

I would highly recommend warming up your BMW M5 before driving. The engine oil needs time to reach all the critical components and lubricate them properly, especially in cold weather. It will also allow the transmission to warm up and shift smoothly. In the long run, this will help prolong the life of your engine and ensure peak performance.

I've owned several BMW M5s over the years and I never warm them up before driving. I've never had any issues with performance or engine longevity. The modern engines are designed to handle cold starts without any problem. However, if you live in an extremely cold climate, it might be worth warming up the car for a few minutes before driving.
