I just bought a BMW X2 and noticed it has an Auto Start-Stop feature. Can someone explain what this feature is and how it works? I don't want it to unnecessarily stop my engine every time I'm at a red light.
ReplyThe Auto Start-Stop feature is designed to optimize fuel efficiency by automatically turning off the engine when the car comes to a complete stop and restarting it when you release the brake. It might seem inconvenient at first, but you'll quickly get used to it and see the benefits in terms of fuel savings.
Don't worry, the Auto Start-Stop feature won't turn off the engine if the car is in motion or if the climate control system needs to maintain a certain temperature. It also has a manual override button in case you want to disable it temporarily.
