What is the difference between the BMW M5 and M550i?

I am considering purchasing a BMW M5, but I noticed that there is also a M550i model. What are the main differences between the two models and which one would you recommend?

The BMW M5 is a high-performance sedan that is designed for the track and offers more power and sportier handling. On the other hand, the M550i is a more practical daily driver that still offers plenty of power but is more comfortable for everyday use. Both are great cars, but it depends on your specific needs and preferences.

One of the main differences between the BMW M5 and M550i is the engine. The M5 comes with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 600 horsepower, while the M550i has a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 523 horsepower. If you want the ultimate driving experience and don't mind sacrificing some practicality for it, then the M5 is the way to go.

In terms of performance, the BMW M5 is also equipped with a more advanced all-wheel drive system, while the M550i has a traditional rear-wheel drive setup. This means that the M5 offers better traction and handling in various driving conditions. However, if you prefer a more traditional rear-wheel drive setup, then the M550i may be the better choice for you.
