What is the technical difference between the BMW M1 and the M1 Procar?

I'm looking to purchase a BMW M1, but I noticed there is also an M1 Procar model. Can someone explain the technical differences between these two models and any advantages one may have over the other?

Hi Natalie, the BMW M1 Procar is a track-only version of the M1 with a modified engine that produces more power. It also has a different body design, with a larger rear wing and air intakes to improve aerodynamics. If you're planning on using the car primarily for track days, the M1 Procar might be the better choice. However, if you want a street legal car, the regular M1 is the way to go.

Hello Natalie, another major difference between the BMW M1 and the M1 Procar is the suspension setup. The Procar has a stiffer and more performance-oriented suspension to handle high speeds on the track. If you plan on driving the car on regular roads, you may find the Procar's suspension to be too stiff and uncomfortable. In that case, the standard M1 would be a better fit.
