Why is my BMW 1 Series making a clicking noise when I turn on the ignition?

I have noticed that my BMW 1 Series is making a clicking noise when I turn on the ignition. It seems to be coming from under the hood and it only happens when I start the car, not when it's already running. What could be causing this and is it something I should be concerned about?

The clicking noise could be coming from your starter motor. This could be caused by a weak battery or a faulty starter motor. It's best to have it checked by a mechanic to determine the exact cause.

Another possible cause for the clicking noise could be a loose or damaged belt. This could be fixed by adjusting or replacing the belt.

If the clicking noise is accompanied by a grinding sound, it could be an issue with the transmission. Bring your car to a mechanic as soon as possible to prevent further damage.
